First off, I need to be congratulated because I actually got through the whole book, and the nugget on the very last page was worth the read. Making changes in your life to better concentrate is dependent on “taking yourself seriously, to believe that you are entitled to create the space and time you need free from distraction and interruption.” Well bingo. This has always been my problem when I’m working on self-improvement. Ultimately, I ask, is this worth my time and energy? What am I accomplishing? Meaning, am I worth my time and energy? The answer always seems to be no, and I really believe that’s why I get stuck in my life.
The thing is, when I decide it’s not important enough to focus on myself and improve myself, what do I end up doing? Watching whatever series I am addicted to at that moment. Just started Succession again and given that each episode is an hour and there are now four seasons, you do the math. I’ll see you sometime in the spring.
Like, that’s productive, huh? I’m making great strides in the world by absorbing myself in TV series.
I’m not the person who says, “It changed my life.” Ever. But I’ll be! This little book has changed my life! I’m shopping for an xbox now so I can play video games with my nephew instead of watching TV. Seems way more productive.
