3 Laughs Today

Three laughs today and I have a blog entry!

I’m distraught, sick to my stomach, experiencing things I’ve never experienced before in my life. This morning, I was so distracted by my thoughts, I was driving around Massachusetts WITH my GPS talking to me and still, I got lost. Apparently, I drove an hour in the wrong direction. And while I thought I was correcting my errors, I was getting more lost. Mind you, GPS was talking to me, but she kept saying “re-routing” and adding time onto my trip, which would have been okay except that I was running low on gas and my car was telling me I needed to fill up and informing me of how many miles I had left on the tank. So the google bitch was re-routing and yelling at me, and my car was dinging a warning message over and over again to fill up. I finally realized that if I kept driving around, I would run out of gas and that I needed to get my head on straight and figure out where I was and where there was a gas station, so I pulled over to the side of the road and had a good, hysterical laugh at myself. I never run out of gas, and I know my way around Massachusetts very well. I made it in the nick of time.

Laugh number 2:  Michael informed me that we had an eclipse this morning. I asked, “Do we get those in Massachusetts?”

Laugh number 3: He said, “I guess you’re not on mushrooms anymore,” referring back to this that I wrote just a couple of weeks ago. http://writerecover.com/2023/09/23/tripping/

I have been diagnosed by my dear friend Racquel as having vicarious trauma which explains my behavior and gives me concrete things I can work on to alleviate it all. Tonight I will watching Tropic Thunder with my brother and nephew and if they mention anything about the Middle East, I will laugh, regardless.
