Love and Kisses

Love the disco tune by Love and Kisses, but really, I don’t care if it’s Friday, Monday, Wednesday, Sunday…it’s really all the same to me. When you don’t work or go to school or do anything to contribute to society, every day is kind of the same. So, on behalf of my friends who work normal jobs from Monday to Friday, I salute you and I sing to you. I might even get up and dance a bit.

I remember those days when I worked from 9-5 five days a week. I remember wasting a shitload of time. I remember feeling so stifled and controlled. But some great writing came from it. Speaking of wishing my friends well, let’s talk about muffin tops. The other day I was on the phone with my friend and she was eating muffin tops. I crave cake-like goodies in the morning, but I don’t want to start the day with so many calories, so I substitute Ezekiel toast with peanut butter for muffins and that somewhat quells my craving. I told her this.

Today I called my friend. I was really angry with her and I thought I should express myself rather than stifle it and resent her for the rest of our lives. Since our conversation, I told her, I have been craving muffins. I bought a 4-pack and today, Friday, I was finishing the last two in the package. That’s TWO muffins this morning. I told her it was her fault and that I was really mad at her.

She said, “Well that’s funny, because ever since we spoke I’ve been eating toast and peanut butter in the mornings!” We laughed and laughed over this ironic turn of events.

Then I told her I never wanted to talk to her again and that our friendship was over.
