It’s the Jewish New Year, and as with all other Jewish celebrations, we eat. The New Year is followed by a week of serious internal reflection on our actions during the past year, culminating with a day of fasting on Yom Kippur to repent for our sins.
I used to wonder, why just one day of fasting to repent for an entire year of bad behavior? But for a people who love their food and enjoy it in copious quantities on most days, one day of fasting is a nearly impossible feat, and it’s enough suffering to make up for at least a year of bad behavior.
More on that next Monday.
I am creating a new schedule for blog posting which will serve the purpose of setting expectations for you, my readers, and hopefully increase my readership. Consistency is key, they tell me.
Mondays will be food and drink day. As in, you will be subjected to my thoughts about eating and drinking – or, the lack thereof.
Wednesday, hump day, will be “Mediocrity” day. As in, you will be subjected to my thoughts about the mundane.
Friday, TGIF, will be a robust roundup day for all things.
And Sunday will be thoughts of spiritual enlightenment, or lack thereof.
I suspect this will evolve as I have more to say on various topics.
Please leave a comment if you read my blog. It would be much appreciated. I’m not asking for money. Just a little comment so I see that people are reading it. I need validation.
Happy New Year and here’s to a fresh start for the WriteRecover blog.
Happy new year!
Yummy☺️
And I look forward to the scheduled posts!
Happy New Year! Can’t wait to read your blog more regularly. Love your schedule of topics.
Love this & the picture! Thanks for setting my expectations. And now I want bread
Love it
If you prepare special food on Mondays, I know a very appreciative neighbor that you should share with😁!
That bread will be so stale by Sunday! Can H & B atone for their very many sins by having some now?
Yep. Eat, then starve. Recipe for disaster.
Hilarious as always my friend!
